Founded in 1855 in Brussels, Maison Leysen has been established in the jewelry business for over 169 years. We uphold our founders' commitment to excellence while keeping the company relevant to today's world.

Taking over by the International group Tesiro in 2018, we are looking for someone who is ready to take on the challenge of being the next GM of Leysen Belgium.

 

Leysen is managed as much as possible on a flat basis. It means that:

 

  • Collaborators have a job description but not necessarily a job title
  • Everyone is expected to know perfectly his tasks and what he has to do (sometimes in very different matters)
  • Each collaborator is free to participate to a project or to bring some inputs (if it does not affect his currents tasks)
  • There is a lot of information sharing
  • Information is used to help improve quality of service and work
  • Employees are sharing success and fails and they can challenge themselves ;-)

GM duties

Leysen illu creation

As a GM, the candidate has to share his time between sales OKR, the strategic and financial development of the company on one side and the store activities and staff management on the other side. He can stand on the support of the main shareholders to succeed in the mission.

 

Main job duties

Accomplish department objectives by reaching sales objective, managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities by:

 

  • To drive the sales to reach objectives
  • Constant communication with the main shareholders (represented by Wenyao)
  • Be the garant of Leysen standards.
  • Establish strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
  • Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Developing new business opportunities by creating a new strategic plan after the transition has been integrated.

  • Self-Motivated with a desire to succeed
  • Deep understanding of the market trends
  • Fast learner, resourceful and innovative
  • Confident in driving sales
  • Great customer service skills
  • Well-presented
  • Must be trustworthy
  • French, Dutch and English fluent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team spirit and flexible
  • Knowledge of the jewelry business and precious stones.
